چکیده
In May 2018, a major eruption occurred in the lower East Rift Zone of Kīlauea volcano. The started with collapse Pu'u 'Ō'ō crater followed by large downrift dike intrusion for more than 20 km well instrumented region. This volcanic event is rare opportunity to infer dynamics magma transfer that often difficult capture. this study, we use seismological records migration dike. We detect, pick and locate 6000 earthquakes during course intrusion. Using these locations together near-field seismic amplitudes, can precisely reconstruct progression over time. show consistent logarithmic model growth connected feeding chamber. decrease pressure inside reservoir also propagation derived from our observations. work encourages real time monitoring intrusions combination data physical models.

Seismic Amplitude Ratio Analysis of the 2014–2015 Bárðarbunga-Holuhraun Dike Propagation and Eruption
Magma is transported in brittle rock through dikes and sills. This movement may be accompanied by the release of seismic energy that can be tracked from the Earth’s surface. Locating dikes and deciphering their dynamics is therefore of prime importance in understanding and potentially forecasting volcanic eruptions. The Seismic Amplitude Ratio Analysis (SARA) method aims to track melt propagati...
متن کاملVirtual Dike: multiscale simulation of dike stability
We present a Virtual Dike simulation module developed as a part of a flood Early Warning System (EWS) for the UrbanFlood project. The UrbanFlood EWS is a distributed system that analyzes sensor data received in real-time from flood defenses (dikes, dams, etc.) and simulates dike stability, breaching and flood propagation. The aim of the Virtual Dike module is to develop an advanced multiscale m...
متن کاملPre - eruption deformation caused by dike intrusion beneath Kizimen volcano , Kamchatka , Russia , observed by InSAR
a r t i c l e i n f o Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) images reveal a pre-eruption deformation signal at Kizimen volcano, Kamchatka, Russia, where an ongoing eruption began in mid-November, 2010. The previous eruption of this basaltic andesite-to-dacite stratovolcano occurred in 1927–1928. InSAR images from both ascending and descending orbital passes of Envisat and ALOS PALSAR...
متن کاملPreparatory and precursory processes leading up to the 2014 phreatic eruption of Mount Ontake, Japan
We analyzed seismicity linked to the 2014 phreatic eruption of Mount Ontake, Japan, on 27 September 2014. We first relocated shallow volcano tectonic (VT) earthquakes and long-period (LP) events from August to September 2014. By applying a matched-filter technique to continuous waveforms using these relocated earthquakes, we detected numerous additional micro-earthquakes beneath the craters. Th...
متن کاملSimulation of the trans-oceanic tsunami propagation due to the 1883 Krakatau volcanic eruption
The 1883 Krakatau volcanic eruption has generated a destructive tsunami higher than 40 m on the Indonesian coast where more than 36 000 lives were lost. Sea level oscillations related with this event have been reported on significant distances from the source in the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Evidence of many manifestations of the Krakatau tsunami was a subject of the intense discussi...
